The project

HULL
The hull is built in sandwich with carbon-fibreglass laminated with vinyl-epoxy resin.
The manual lamination is completed with following treatment vacuum consolidated in three phases: external skin, internal skin, and then, post cured.
The core is CORE-CELL, a linear structural foam, vacuum bagged to obtain maximum bonding.
The lamination of the keel box, lower rudder bearing, and near the engine sail drive is single skin.
The position and dimension of hull beams are designed to obtain the best compromise between weight and stiffness; the bulkheads and cabinets are included in the hull/deck structure.
Particular care has been given to the shrouds chain plates, which are bolted on deck, while two beams on hull guarantee an optimal dissipation of loads.
The hull/deck joint is provided by structural bondage and extra carbon/fibreglass lamination.
DECK
As for K33, the deck is built in sandwich with carbon-fibreglass laminated with vinyl-epoxy resin.
The manual lamination is followed by a vacuum consolidated treatment in three phases: external skin, core, internal skin, and then post cured.
The core is CORE-CELL, linear structural foam, vacuumed bagged to obtain the maximum bondage.
Simplicity and easy access to all manoeuvres are winning aspects of K43. All the halyards and main sheets arrive directly in the wide cockpit, where there are three after peaks, providing space for fenders and safety equipment.
Very comfortable and handy, the companionway realized in such a way to be easily stowed.
The anchor locker, with the windlass working under deck, is in the bow.
All the hinges and locks are stainless steel and flush, therefore avoiding any interference with sheets.
INTERIORS
The height under deck is 1, 93 mt.
The interiors offer a wide dinette with an L galley and a chart table on the starboard.
The galley is provided with 3 burners, an oscillating oven, the sink with a pressure water tap, a 150 lt. fridge, and plenty stowage space under the sink and extra lockers.
In the forward area there is the owner’s cabin with a double bed, two shelves, a large locker, six drawers, two reading lights, plus three halogen ceiling lights, and two hatches.
The owner has two heads, one with a sink, and the other with the wc/shower box.
The aft cabin has a double bed, a locker, shelf, three drawers, and an access to the engine.
The aft heads have a sink with water pressure tap, WC and shower, and a port allowing good ventilation.
SAIL PLANE
The K43 sail plane is designed to guarantee optimum performance in sailing either up or down wind, especially in moderate breeze conditions.
The aluminium mast (carbon optional), passes through the deck, and has 2 aerodynamic spreaders, angulated with 20 deg, aluminium (carbon optional) boom, vertical and diagonal tie rod shrouds, and a splitted backstay.
APPENDAGES
The fin keel is in stainless steel fabricated, and the ballast is provided by a plumb bulb with 3% of antimony.
The rudder is carbon laminated with epoxy resin and vacuum consolidated.
